Following guidance from NAVADMIN 346/11, NAVADMIN 222/16, and CNICNOTE 5230; CNRJ N946 and CNRJ N6 are responsible for reviewing the acquisition of any IT-related equipment or service to ensure authorization and compatibility within existing IT systems and regulatory parameters. As such, an approved IT Purchase Request (ITPR) is required when submitting Purchase Requests (PRs) for such items to Finance/Procurement. To obtain an approved ITPR, submit a request to IT with the following attached:
- the PR with first approval signature, and
- the Quote for the items in PR.
IT equipment and services that require an ITPR include but are not limited to:
- Computers, Laptops, Servers;
- Displays, Mice, Keyboards, Speakers, Webcams;
- Printers, Copiers, Scanners, Barcode Readers, Multifunction Devices;
- Smarphones, Tablets, Radios, Devices that use Radio Frequencies and Radio Services;
- Hard Drives, Memory Cards, Thumb Drives;
- Mainframes, Routers, Switches, Firewalls;
- Equipment Cabinets/Racks, Power Supplies, Surge Suppressors;
- Cables (Ethernet, Audio/Video, Telephone, Power);
- Telephones, Telephone/Cellular Service;
- Televisions, Projectors, Screens, Cable TV Service;
- Video Teleconferencing Systems;
- Software Applications;
- Web Portals, Websites;
- Internet/WiFi Service;
- Collaboration/Knowledge/Records Management Tools;
- Training and Education associated with IT assets;
- And any equipment or device that can be connected to a network or computer or in any way interacts with any computer system, IT integrated business solution, or other IT asset used for or by N9 programs.
If you are unsure if your purchase requires an ITPR, submit it for ITPR anyway! The IT Team will either let you know that an ITPR is not required or will process the ITPR.
